Taundra Pitchford
pre-school director
I’ve been in the field of early education for more than 20 years as a teacher, school owner and director. I've had the pleasure of working with St. Mark twice. It’s crazy how life can come full circle. I was the director a few years back and moved to Portland with my family for eight years. My husband and I made the decision to return to California to be closer to family and friends – and yes, we were getting a little tired of the rain. (You just can’t beat Santa Barbara weather!)
I love a school where I have the opportunity to connect with families and help teachers grow in the field of early childhood. A school in which, above all, I can engage the children in life-enriching experiences that help them embrace the world around them. St. Mark is that school. We learn, we play, and we enjoy what we do together. I love St. Mark so much that my own twin daughters attended and graduated from pre-k in 2004. Now they're in high school, but I’m sure you’ll see them around once in awhile working with the children.
