The Church Has Left the Building!

St. Mark United Methodist Church is not only committed to serving and loving those who are within the walls of the church, but to serve and love those in our neighborhood, community, and beyond.

  • Children's ministry

SAFE SANCTUARY Our church participates in Safe Sanctuaries, a United Methodist policy that ensures the safety of our children. The entire congregation takes seriously our duty to protect our children from physical and emotional harm.

CHILD CARE For infants and toddlers too young to participate in Children's Moment and/or Sunday School, free child care is provided in our nursery.

CHILDREN'S MOMENT Children are invited to join us for the first part of worship to participate in singing praise and a children's story during children's moment.

SUNDAY SCHOOL After Children's Moment, the children leave worship to attend age Bible-based lessons that include a devotional message, prayer, craft projects, music and games. On the first Sunday of each month, the children are invited to return to worship to receive Communion with their families.

  • Transition house

Every other month, we prepare meals and help serve the people at Transition House of Santa Barbara.

For more information on Transition House, click here.

  • Isla Vista Homeless ministry

Partnering with other churches, every Monday evening we help to feed the homeless in Isla Vista.

  • Care packages

Once a month, we gather to pack care-packages to be delivered to the homeless.

  • Prayer ministry

We believe that prayer plays a vital role in our faith journey -- both communally and personally.

Our prayer team is available every Sunday after worship to pray with and for you.

If you want to email a prayer request, you can do so here

Every two years, the prayer team holds a prayer retreat for the first weekend of October.

  • Stephen's ministry

We all experience challenges in life - times when we could benefit from the support of a caring Christian friend. Stephen Ministers are available to offer emotional and spiritual care in times of need. We partner with First United Methodist Church of Santa Barbara to provide this ministry. If you - or someone you know - could benefit from the care of a Stephen Minister, please email the Church Office
